Just Announced: Special Prize for Best New Utilities
To celebrate our fantastic new Symbian UI and Qt cross-platform environment, Calling All Innovators is adding a new special prize to the contest for the best Utility applications. Winning applications in this new category of the contest will receive:
- Grand Prize: 30,000 USD in cash.
- 2nd Prize: 15,000 USD in cash.
- 3rd Prize: 5,000 USD in cash.
We’re seeking cool and innovative Utility apps that go beyond the normal conception of plain-old utilities – come and wow us with something unique and mind blowing that delivers great functionality with a twist! Specifically, the types of apps that we’re interested in seeing for this special prize include any of the following:
- Image & Video Editing
- Dictionaries, including localized versions
- Calculators
- Converters (e.g. currency, measurement, weight, etc.)
- Voice Recording, Playback & Sharing
- Imaging & Printing
- Stopwatches & Timers
- Podcasting
- Document Viewers
- Document and File Management
The winning submissions for this special prize must be developed using Qt (note: all Qt submissions must be based on Qt 4.6.2).
The Utilities submitted for this special prize should work on Nokia devices across multiple regions globally. Where possible, the app should be customized for use in local markets, too. Special consideration will be given to those submissions that are customized for use in the UK, Germany, China, Gulf States and Australia.
When submitting your application for consideration for this special prize, please choose the Productivity category during the submission process, and note that you are submitting a Utility in your description of the application.
